Ken Sampson – Nominated for excelling in our core principles of: Commitment and Respect

Ken Sampson was on his way home on July 24, 2012 when he recognized one of our consumers walking down a busy street followed by a residential van. The residential staff was having difficulty getting the consumer in the vehicle. Ken pulled over and intervened. It took Ken approximately one hour to get this individual in his car to bring her home. During this time the police arrived and Ken asked that they stay back as to not exacerbate the situation. Throughout the year, the Community Supports program/Community Celebrations hosts several dances including a large holiday dinner/dance in December. Our Liberal Club dances are held in March, June, and September. For each of these dances, there is a large amount of preparation. This includes setting up the room and decorating. While the Community Supports program has a number of regular staff that provide transportation, a large amount of the preparation is done through our volunteers.
